McKinney police have arrested a man suspected of striking a bicyclist with his car and fleeing the scene.
Police responded to the hit-and-run shortly before 8 p.m. Thursday in the 1800 block of Greenwood Road in McKinney, where bicyclist Steven Miles of McKinney had been struck by a passenger car that witnesses described as a red sedan.
Police located the vehicle, but the driver had left. Miles was flown to Parkland Memorial Hospital, where he died from his injuries, said McKinney Deputy Police Chief Joe Ellenburg.
He is being held at the Collin County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond.
Police said the incident is still under investigation.
