Gunter EDC gets grant to benefit small businesses

Gunter Economic Development Corporation has announced it has received a grant from the USDA Rural Business Enterprise to provide business loans in the Gunter area. Small and emerging private businesses interested in opening a location in the city of Gunter or its extraterritorial jurisdiction, as well as existing businesses in the Gunter area, are encouraged to submit a loan application with the GEDC.
The loans will have a favorable interest rate and may be used for a variety of business expenses. Examples of qualifying expenses are: start-up operating costs and working capital; acquisition and development of land, easements and rights-of-way; and construction, conversion, enlargement, repairs or modernization of buildings, plants, machinery, etc.
In addition to Byrd and Moody, GEDC Board Members are: Mark Taylor, Vice President; Jamie Penner, Secretary; Stephanie Kelly; Billy Viars and Don Anderson.
