Prosper utility customers have new way to pay bill

Customers of the town of Prosper utility services can now authorize the drafting of funds from their checking or savings bank accounts to pay for water, wastewater and trash collection services, according to Pamela Clark, Utility Clerk.

Customers wishing to establish the draft service must pick up an application at the Town offices, 121 W. Broadway Street in downtown Prosper, or go online to www.prospertx.gov, click on the “Online Services” tab, then “Utility Billing,” then “Auto-Draft Setup Form.” Once filled in with all of the required information, signed and dated, it must be returned or mailed to Utility Billing, 121 W. Broadway, P.O. Box 307, Prosper, Tx 75078. A voided check for those choosing to draft from their checking accounts must accompany the application.

Completed applications received by the fifth day of the month will activate the service for that month. Applications received after the fifth of the month will result in activation for the following month’s billings. Discontinuation of the service must be accomplished in writing. Drafting of the total amount of the bill will occur on or about the tenth day of each month. Partial payments cannot be accommodated.

“People have been asking for this service, so we instituted it. It’s another way we can extend a convenience to our customers,” she said.
