Celina band bingo night
Celina school bands will hold a bingo night from 6 to 9 p.m. on Feb. 20 in the Celina High School auditorium. A $5 combo meal will include 2 hot dogs or 1 barbecue sandwich, chips, soft drink or water and 2 bingo cards. There will be great prizes at this evening for the whole family.
Black History Month event at First Baptist Church
Celina Newcomers coffee
Celina Newcomers will hold a coffee from 10 a.m. to noon at the Texas Star Bank. Celina City Manager Jason Gray will be the guest speaker. The group meets every fourth Thursday.
Exercise classes at Celina Community Center
Exercise classes are held for all senior citizens on Monday at 12:30 p.m and Wednesday at 12:30 p.m.
Dallas North Tollway extension meetings
North Texas Tollway Authority will hold two public meetings to provide information on the development of proposed DNT alignment alternatives and to receive comments from the public. Maps and other information about the project will be on display. Both meetings are open to the general public. The first one will be held at 6 p.m. on March 9 in the PointBank Community Room at 200 S. Highway 377 in Pilot Point. The second meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on March 11 in the Celina Middle School cafeteria at 710 E. Pecan St.
CARE ladies brunch and auction to be held next month
The Celina Area Renaissance Excellence brunch and auction will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on March 27 at the Celina High School cafeteria. Guest speaker will be Jan Miller. founder of CARE. Tickets are $10 and are available now at the Celina High School front office.
Celina Chamber Banquet
The annual Celina Chamber of Commerce banquet will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. on Mar. 27 at the Bill Bates Ranch. There will be a cash bar and live music during dinner. Ticket price has not been determined yet. For reserving tickets call the Celina Chamber at 972-382-3600.
Rotary Club of Preston Trail
The Preston Trail Rotary Club meets every Friday at noon in the community room in the Texas Star Bank at 320 S. Preston Rd. Call 214-215-5453 for information.
Pilot Point holding contest for new logo
The city of Pilot Point is holding a global design competition to develop a new logo and a slogan for the town of 5,000 residents. The contest is open to anyone of any age and will close February 19. Submissions should be emailed to entry@pilotpointlogocontest.com. A $500 prize will be awarded to the winner. Local town leaders and celebrities including Walt Garrison, Clarice Tinsley, Larry Mahan, Donna Howell-Sickles, Bob Philips, Don Schol and Pam Burnley-Schol comprise the panel of judges. Fifth annual Collin County Home and Garden Show to be held in Allen
Home and Garden Show will be held at the Allen Events Center at 200 E. Stacy Rd. in Allen on Feb. 19, 20, and 21. Adult tickets 17 and older are $9, children 16 and under get in free, on Friday only those 65 and older can get in for $5. Main Street golf tournament
The annual Main Street golf tournament will be held beginning at noon on April 26 at the Frisco Golf Club at 10411 Teel Parkway in Frisco. Proceeds will benefit Founder's Station Park, the downtown square and community projects and the 100th historic celebration of the square. For information visit www.celina-tx.gov.
Bobby sox bowling fund raiser to benefit Assistance Center of Collin County
The second annual Bobby Sox Bowling Fundraiser to benefit the Assistance Center of Collin County will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Feb. 27 at the Plano Super Bowl, 2521 Ave. K in Plano. The event is for families, neighborhood groups and corporate teams. There will also be a karaoke contest and a silent auction. Tickets are $25 each or $85 for a family or group of four. The Assistance Center of Collin County helps Collin County residents in crisis with housing, utilities, prescriptions, transportation, food, food and clothing.
