Prosper hosting emergency response training to help community
From Staff Reports
The Town of Prosper, like other municipalities in Collin County, is encouraging the development of trained teams of local volunteers to be available to help out in times of crisis, when public emergency response personnel may be inundated with calls for service.
To that end, the Collin County Homeland Security Department, in coordination with the Town of Prosper and Prosper Independent School District, is hosting a Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) full-scale exercise from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at Prosper High School.
The goal of the Collin County Medical Reserve Corps Training Program is to develop an adequate number of skilled MRC personnel to staff Prosper’s Point-of-Dispensing (POD) site, of which there are over 22 in Collin County, to provide medical aid and assistance in the event of a public health emergency.
